Taipei Scooters (我的台北)

The first thing you'll notice about Taiwan which is quite different from Japan is that the former is a "Scooter City" .

Everywhere you go, you'll see bikes parked on the sidewalks, streets.... pretty much everywhere.

The bikes will weave in and out of traffic during rush hour often jumping onto the sidewalks to avoid a light or cars.... something you'll NEVER see in "RULE-LOVING" Japan...

For me, this is one of the cool things about this place. It's sort of like the bastard stepchild if you cross NYC with Tokyo. People are still polite, but they are willing to bend the rules if they need to....

However, they are UNLIKE New Yorkers in that they are also pretty nice.

During a red light at an intersection, I jumped into the middle of the street to take these photos. I thought I'd get yelled at to high hell, instead the guy in the middle asked me if I wanted to stand closer to get a better "more artistic photo".
