Unwatchable Parts Unknown Part 3 - Episode S4E7 - Massachusetts

This is one of the more serious Parts Unknown episodes that really distinguished it from his earlier No Reservations series.

In this Tony explores his early days in Provincetown where he developed his drug habit. He seems to relish the fact that cooks are in fact unknown rock stars. They lived hard, they work hard .. and they partied hard.

With this, Anthony then pivots to the ongoing addiction issue with opioid drugs in the area.

Where it was previously an ignored problem since it was confined to the minority populations in the area; the new epidemic was almost exclusively found in the white, middle class.

Interviews with former addicts, cops and doctors were excellent, and really presented in a balanced manner.

My issue with this episode was ending, where Anthony attends an addiction support group and talks about his battles with addiction and how he could no longer risk his life due to the fact that he now has a daughter.

I wish he remembered this while in Alcace on that fateful day ...
