Waiting in line has now become fashionable

Last week, a friend in Norway pointed out this article in Dagbladet which talks about how it's cool for young people now to wait in line.

There's proabably some truth to this, as waiting in line for a restaurants/concerts is on of the few remaining things that one can do in a crowd.

And not to sound too much like a Gen-X-er, but there is some reward to that. A lot of memories are formed when you are in just standing around "waiting" in a large group. The waiting builds anticipation, and the group's together-ness sort of binds people...

I still have really vivid memories of waiting to see "The Empire Strikes Back" ... the movie really didn't have that much of an effect on me (it was all right) ... but the waiting in line with my brother and my friends ... on that summer night ... THAT I REMEMBER!
