4. The two floor elevator

While in Tokyo, I happened into a hotel which had its main entrance on the 8th floor. So you needed to take an elevator from the 1st floor to the 8th floor or vice-versa to do anything.

From the 8th floor, you could check-in or check-out, or change to another elevator to get to the actual hotel rooms.

There's nothing wrong with this. However I am just wondering ... do you actually need BUTTONS in a TWO FLOOR ELEVATOR?

It seems to me if you are on the ground level, you will only go to the 8th floor. And if you're on 8th you will only go to the 1st.
