Placing a CREDIT FREEZE on EXPERIAN

After the NPD HACK, all people are advised to place CREDIT FREEZES on their credit accounts.

This process prevents new credit to be taken out on an individuals.

Note there is NO CHARGE for this, but you will need to place CREDIT FREEZES ON ALL (3) major credit agencies:

• Equifax
• Transunion
• Experian

The following is the process for placing a CREDIT FREEZE on EXPERIAN

Step 1: Open the Experian Credit Freeze Site

If you don't feel comfortable opening a link on this site, Google "Experian Credit Freeze"

Step 2: Enter your SSN and Mobile number for authentication

On the next page, enter your SSN and mobile phone number. You will then receive a confirmation code URL on your phone. DO NOT LEAVE THIS PAGE.

Step 3: Validate Mobile number

You will receive a confirmation URL in your phone SMS. Click on that link. But do not close this browser window.

Step 4: Validate user details

Once you pass the validation, enter your information on the following screen.

Step 5: Select Membership Type and enter login details

Make sure to select "Free Membership". Then enter an email and pick a password.

Step 6: Click the freeze credit report toggle switch to lock your Experian Credit Report

Click the Freeze toggle

Step 7: Complete

Done!
