As a kid, I enjoyed TV series COSMOS created by Carl Sagan. He was one of the earliest people to "popularize" science. He was able to explain scientific things in very simple terms that appealed to kids.
His presentation style is seen later science shows created by Stephen Hawking and Neils Degrass-Tyson.
He was also a popular guest on the "Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson.
While on the show in the 1970s, Carson asked Carl about the "THEN" novel movie "Star Wars"....
From a science point of view, he basically trashed the movie .. pointing out the various impossibilities such as humans speaking English in another galaxy. He also noted some discrimination again non-humans races ... such as the WOOKIES!
